Behind the brand

Clif Bar is a brand of organic energy bars that was founded in 1992 by Gary Erickson, a baker and endurance athlete, and his wife, Kit Crawford. The idea for Clif Bar came to Erickson during a 280km bike ride when he realized that the energy bars he had brought with him were not appetising or satisfying. He decided to create his own energy bar using wholesome, organic ingredients and named it after his father, Clifford.

The first Clif Bar flavours were Chocolate Chip, Apricot, and Date & Walnut, and they quickly gained huge popularity amoung outdoor enthusiasts and athletes. Over the years, Clif Bar has expanded its product line to include a variety of energy bars, protein bars and energy gels. The company has also been committed to sustainability and social responsibility, using organic and non-GMO ingredients, reducing its carbon footprint, and supporting various environmental and social causes.
